At Affordable Underpinning we only use the best Helical piers from Pier Tech.

At Affordable Underpinning we only use the best Helical piers from Pier Tech.

They are easy to install and commonly used when soil conditions prevent standard foundation solutions.

They minimise installation time so they don’t require large excavation work require little soil disturbance, and most importantly transfers the weight of the structure to load bearing soil.

With various different attachments these screw piers can also be used for deck installations, subfloor piers, granny flat floors and so on, We also can use our 6k handheld torque head to drive the piles into the ground with out the use of excavators specifically for those jobs with no machinery access

Did you know drought can affect your piers?

During a long drought clay soils expand and contract. In the cooler, wetter weather they expand but when it’s hot and dry they contract.

As we have been experiencing a long drought, clay soil under your home may have contracted, causing sinking of your piers

Did you know vibrations can affect house piers?

Many houses in suburban areas are built near construction sites, main roads and railways. Underneath homes located in these areas their piers are constantly absorbing a tremendous amount of impact from vibrations.

Heavy vehicles like excavators, concrete mixing trucks, trains and planes can cause the ground to quake. These vibrations can weaken soil to the point of house piers losing stabilisation in the soil.

Have you checked your house piers recently?

When was the last time you checked your house piers ? House piers can move or sink for a number of reasons.

In order to find the correct solution to raise, stabilise or stop them from sinking further you need to understand what happened to the piers in the first place

Do you have leaking pipes?

Soil becomes saturated and weak from excess water. Soil erosion, soil aeration and voids can be caused from water leaking out of broken or unconnected pipes, quite often bathroom and kitchen pipes are the most common culprits.

This excess water from the leaking pipes will reach the ground causing pooling around your piers which will lead to movement and destabilisation
